Ross Gibson

 

Ross Gibson is Professor of Contemporary Arts at the University of Sydney.  As part of his research in this role, he makes books, films and art installations and he encourages postgraduate students in similar pursuits.  


He was Creative Director for the establishment of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.  Prior to that, while working at the University of Technology in Sydney, he was a Senior Consultant Producer for the establishment of the Museum of Sydney. 


Recent works include: the books Seven Versions of an Australian Badland and The Summer Exercises, the video installation Street X-Rays, the blog Accident Music, and Conversations II, a three-month durational work for the Biennale of Sydney.
